Daddy C and PD&P is an eight-piece hip-hop/funk project from Dallas, TX, combining new school hip-hop, rap, and urban music with the best part of the old school the live band. Picture Will Smith flowing over a band like Tony, Toni, Tone meets Prince & NPG - but with a horn section. Featuring James Moore (a.k.a. Daddy C) on vocals AND rap, PD&P kicks out the true R&B flavor with a live horn section, funky guitar that James Brown would be proud of, sweet harmonies, and a uniquely fun personality. We even mix in some Roger & Zapp-style vocoder and talk-box. Remember California Love? As for our history, PD&P has been performing around the North Texas area for over 10 years, knocking out songs by all the old school favorites EWF, Ohio Players, Parliament, Cameo, and more. Playing 20-25 nights a month and becoming one of the area's most popular and well-known acts, PD&P has even opened for artists like Kool & the Gang (twice), The Gap Band, The Time, and KC & The Sunshine Band. Daddy C, a talented Dallas-area vocalist/writer/rapper/producer met and started working with PD&P keyboardist Scott White in early 1999. By the end of the year, the whole band was involved and the concept of Daddy C and PD&P started to take shape. And now, in 2000 we're comin' at ya!
